The Blue Ridge train ride

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a short 3-hour and 30-minute drive from Nashville. Travelers can purchase a standard ticket for the 26-mile journey, which goes through the mountains and along the river, lasting four hours. But it’s not 4 hours on the train! There is a stopover in the town of McCaysville where you can shop and grab a quick meal.

This train ride in GA is a perfect trip for viewing the fall foliage in the Appalachian foothills of Northern Georgia, but also a quick summer alternative to the typical beach destination. Rides typically leave at 11 am, so if you’re leaving Nashville that morning, you’d want to leave no later than 6:00 am. Why so early? Don’t forget there’s a time change!! Premier seating is available for riders 18 and older.
Arrive one hour before train departure time.
Train cars are assigned, but seats are not. If you have a party that needs to sit together try to be among the first to board.
The train is equipped with a lift that can handle wheelchairs up to 750 lbs.
The train has open-air cars, closed-coach cars, and a concession car.

How much does it cost to ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway?

Adult tickets start at $47, with discounts for first responders, teachers, and seniors. Children up to 23 months, who ride in your lap, are free. Tickets for children ages 2-12 are $32.
